The two times Austrian Olympic champions (tornado class): Roman Hagara and Hans-Peter Steinacher and sports directors of Red Bull Foiling Generation, the sailing competition that seeks to find the best young talents (16 to 20 years old) in the world throughout its 15 stops, arrived in August in Spain, in search of the best sailing talent in our country.
After having passed through Japan, the UK, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Russia and France in 2015, 2016 completes its calendar of 2016 stops in New Zealand, Turkey, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and the USA. It is in the USA that the competition will culminate with the World Final where, after two years of searching, the 15 winning teams (one per stop) will finally meet in Newport, Rhode Island in October 2016.
The Spanish venue chosen to host this competition is none other than the historic marina of Puerto Sherry. During the first week of August, the Flying Phantoms, which soar over the water at speeds of up to 35 knots, sailed the Bay of Cadiz in a week of predominantly easterly weather, which made the competition difficult due to the extreme conditions.
Babblá was the production company in charge of the ground assembly of the event. Infrastructure, technical production, shore staff, hostesses, technicians, furniture, etc. In addition to the competition team made up of a cast of local professionals and expert sailors who gave the best of their knowledge in order to make the event live up to expectations.
For us, it is a pleasure. Sailing is a sport that is very close to the hearts of members of our production team, and even more so in a city like ours, surrounded by water and where we understand the sea as a way of life.
