Proposal for the Gadir Site Competition

Under the Tía Norica Puppet Theatre in Cádiz is one of the most striking archaeological sites in the city: the Cómico, now known as Yacimiento Gadir.
When the foundations of the current theatre began to be excavated on this plot, the first Roman remains appeared. However, the great surprise was to arrive at Phoenician levels with houses and streets that allow us to discover urban layouts from the 8th century BC.
On the occasion of the enhancement of the site, in 2013 the Cádiz City Council launched a public tender for the development of the site, its enhancement and 3D reconstructions. With this idea in mind, we contacted the company Expociencia to bid for the contract.
Thus, we presented a book in which we developed the museum route, the different actions to enhance its value, multimedia applications with Augmented Reality, explanations by means of panels and cinema. And all this with a strong presence of 3D archaeological reconstructions.
Although in the end we didn't win the competition, we are so proud of the work we submitted that we don't want it to stay in a forgotten drawer... so enjoy the ideas we submitted back in the day!
